Too Sexy, Too Soon: Risk Reduction for Young Teens

This workshop for 7th- and 8th-grade health/physical education specialists will include strategies for teaching about sexuality education, including contraception, abstinence and risk reduction for middle school-age students. The workshop will model and discuss the following teaching techniques: using a forced choice exercise, using a pressure lines exercise, teaching about contraception and infections all together, using a role-play exercise and practicing answering difficult questions.

Aligned with the revised New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards in Comprehensive Health and Physical Education, this workshop will model effective lessons to help participants become more comfortable and confident when teaching sexuality education.
