Nora Gelperin, M.Ed., holds the Mary Lee Tatum Award.

Congratulations, Nora Gelperin, M.Ed.!

We are pleased to announce that Answer’s director of training, Nora Gelperin, was the recipient of the national 2010 Mary Lee Tatum Award from the Association of Planned Parenthood Leaders in Education! This award is given annually to “the person who most exemplifies the qualities of an ideal sexuality educator”—and for anyone fortunate enough to know and to have worked with Nora, you know that this is indeed an accurate description of her knowledge, skills and commitment to the field of sexuality education. Mary Lee Tatum was a sexuality educator who taught one of the first truly comprehensive sexuality programs in a public school. She was a role model, a trailblazer and a consummate professional sexuality educator, and the award in her name recognizes those sexuality educators who contribute the same dedication and excellence to our field. Among the past recipients of this prestigious national award are Answer’s senior advisor and former executive coordinator, Susan N. Wilson, MS.Ed., and current executive director Elizabeth Schroeder, Ed.D., M.S.W. What a testament to Answer to have three winners of the Mary Lee Tatum Award associated with our organization!
