Pregnant and Parenting Teens: The Basics and Beyond

True or false: “More and more teenagers are getting pregnant each and every year.” If you said false, congratulations – you haven’t internalized one of the most common myths about teen and adolescent pregnancy. According to The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, the teen pregnancy rate is at its lowest point since public health officials started tracking the numbers, and down a remarkable 57% since the peak in 1991.

This workshop will provide the most up-to-date information available about teen and adolescent pregnancy, as well as how the risk and reality of teen and adolescent pregnancy affects young people’s lives.

The goal of this online workshop is to increase knowledge, comfort, and competency for health education professionals working with middle- and high school-age students regarding teen and adolescent pregnancy.
