"I Have to Say What!" Getting Comfortable Teaching Sex Ed--Skills for Teachers and Their Students

“Penis,” “vagina” and “masturbation” can be very difficult words for any adult to say aloud, let alone in front of a group of embarrassed students during health class. In particular, educators who are newer to teaching sexuality often struggle with how to discuss topics about which they have strong opinions and beliefs and, which may be very different from those of their students. It takes work to become comfortable teaching about sexuality—and this interactive workshop is perfect for educators who are new to the topic and looking for ways to move beyond their own discomfort. Lesson plans and skills will be modeled to help teachers encourage their students to become more comfortable talking about sexuality in a mature and responsible manner. This fun workshop is not to be missed!
