Emergency Contraception You Can't Teach What You Don't Know

Rates of unintended pregnancy could be dramatically reduced if more teens understood emergency contraception (EC) and had easy access to it. Given the recent FDA decision to make EC available over-the-counter for women aged 18 and older, there has been renewed attention to this important method of pregnancy prevention.

This workshop will help participants explore the medical facts about emergency contraception, how it differs from “RU-486,” the mechanisms by which it prevents pregnancy and the common myths about it that still abound. Sample interactive lessons will be modeled for use with teens in high school.
