Sexual Harassment

Not only is sexual harassment against the law, it can be intimidating and frightening and can make a person’s environment, including school, intolerable. According to a national survey, 85% of girls and 76% of boys report being sexually harassed in school. As a result, students have difficulty concentrating, avoid social interactions and sometimes refuse to go to school. This workshop will help teachers and other professionals learn about the prevalence and impact of sexual harassment within the school community and how they can help to make their school a safe place for all students. Interactive activities will help participants learn about the difference between flirting, sexual harassment and assault and how to become a “safe” person for young people to talk to.
