susie:

This blog is a great idea! Wouldn't it be wonderful if the image of parenting displayed by Barack and Michelle might start a whole movement of loving and resonsible parenthood? It is quite amazing that that model as it is represented by Sasha and Maliah is so obviously reflected in their joyous natures. I am new to blogging bbut i think it will be fun to learn how to do it. Jody BV

Susan - Thank you for your comments about President Obama as the Family Life Educator-in-Chief. It was great to see the use of the term "family life educator." The National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) has been working to increase awareness and value of taking a preventive and educational approach to family well-being aka "family life education" since the introduction of the Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) designation in 1985. Many of the values demonstrated by President Obama and his administration to-date reflect an understanding of the wisdom and logic of family life education and the importance of family to American society. Let's hope Obama and his administration are able to support their words with actions and funding!
